I Play with crayons, most people misunderstand Me when I say that, and think I mean oil pastels. What I work with are; water soluble wax based pastels (crayons) Someday I hope to play with paint (once I overcome My phobia about cleaning brushes). My work is like My journal, I put to paper My thoughts and images from My dreams, things I hear, see,and feel. My reaction to the world around Me. I’m untrained, but as a wee child on rainy days My Mother would put classical music on the Hi Fi, then set My brothers and I down with the crayon box, and tell Us to draw what the music made Us think of.(She’s a cool Mom) I was never too serious about art as a younger man, and then for 25 years did nothing more artistic than doodling on bar napkins. at age 52 My two lovely Granddaughters found some of My old drawings from My teen years, and encouraged Me to start expressing Myself again, and with the support of My wonderful wife Susan I’ve been arting it up for the past three years. I hope that My interpretations of the world around Me, strike a chord in the viewer, and that they can relate something I’ve said in line and color to something in their life.
For the past two years I've been fortunate to be involved with Altered Esthetics Gallery in N.E. Minneapolis Mn. AE is a non profit gallery promoting arts and artists, and has shown work by artists from across the country, and around the world.
