My work can be seen at A Z gallery in lower-town St. Paul
The art of Todd Peterson has many facets. It is his deductive process that is
evident in this sampling of work where intuition takes over and he coaxes a
visual concept to fruition. With his painterly drawing style he masterfully
works out images with humor, sentiment, and pathos.

My earliest art memory is of my mother sitting my brothers and I around the dining room table, and putting classical music on the Hi Fi and telling us to draw what the music made us think of. I work in a similar fashion today. Closing my eyes and listening to the world around me, and then working into a stream of consciousness method adding and detracting lines and colors to the chosen surface until I feel a direction I want to explore. I also keep paper and pen at bedside to help in grabbing images from my dreams. I walked away from art for 25 years, returning to it in 2006 when My Granddaughters “discovered” some of my older work, while “exploring” my basement.
Much of My work is started with just a bit of an idea, a quick sketch. It's the process that I enjoy, the 'building' of the piece. I think of it as a puzzle, without rules, and a million wrong answers
In the fall of 2008 I joined together with a small group of varied artists and founded Mill District Arts Gallery in Minneapolis Mn.
In Feb of 2009 I opened Look Art Below studio and gallery in N.E. Mpls
In April of 2010 I was accepted as a member of A Z Gallery lower-town St. Paul, next to the black dog cafe
